DjangoCon Europe, 2nd to 7th June 2015, in Cardiff, Wales. 6 days of talks, tutorials and code.

React.js: Back to the future

A nose-first dive into the deep waters of JavaScript frontend programming, especially aimed at Python backend developers who know next to nothing about JavaScript.

Note: this session will run alongside the conference sprints. It’s free to all conference attendees.

About the workshop

The React framework is a relatively new kid on the frontend block.

It’s very well suited both to the progressive enhancement of traditional websites, and building single-page Javascript applications. It’s quite pythonic, allows for good architecture, and carries on with concepts familiar from Django.

That makes it an excellent addition to every Django developer’s toolkit that is moving along with how the web is changing.

This workshop is ideally-suited to newcomers to JavaScript - even complete beginners.
